Course Description
In the State of Iowa, students must receive 12 hours of driving (6 driving/6 observing partner driving) and 30 hours of instruction (you will be online for this portion). Students must also receive 4 hours of instruction concerning substance abuse, 20 minutes of instruction concerning railroad safety, and instruction relating to becoming an organ donor.
GDL (graduated drivers license) requirements, science of driving, organ donation, mental and physical wellness, alcohol and drugs, understanding your vehicle, basic control, neighborhood driving, city driving, school/construction zones, special situations, road signs, freeway driving, rural driving, railroad safety, car crashes, element driving, special maneuvers, road rage, sharing the road, dangers of teen driving and speeding, distracted driving, vehicle emergencies, road trips and seat belt safety, license, laws, next steps.
