Before a potential student can register for a class, they must have their permit before they start the class.  Students have to be 14 to obtain their instruction permit.  To ensure success in this driver education course, it is highly encouraged that potential students drive/practice with their parents/guardians for 20 hours before enrolling in this course.

Each session will cost $425.  Hopefully, the cost of gas and insurance will not affect the price in a negative way.   If you select a class and it is already full.  Please add your name to the waiting list or move to the next available class.  Listed below are the dates and times driver education will be offered.  I will make every effort to place pairs of students in the same car based on needs, but I can't promise specific times.  Each behind-the-wheel session will be 2 hours long (each student will drive and observe 1 hour each).

When you sign up, the student that is taking the class must have a different email than their school email because a lot of schools have firewalls built in so that they cannot receive emails from an outside school email address.  If your student or family does not have a secondary email, you will want to create one.  The online class will be sent to the student's email address.

Course description:  Driver education consists of 30 hours of instruction (we are online for our instruction).  The online course work will consist of street or highway driving,  four hours of instruction concerning substance abuse and distracted driving, a minimum of twenty minutes of instruction concerning railroad crossing safety, instruction relating to becoming an organ donor under the revised uniform anatomical gift, and instruction providing an awareness about sharing the road with pedestrians, bicycles, and motorcycles.  Students will complete twelve hours of behind the wheel instruction.  Six of those hours will be student driving and six hours will be observation of another student driving.

Refund policy:  Students will receive a total refund minus a $15 processing fee if they choose to drop the class before the session starts.  If a student has started driving with an instructor, $75 dollars (Each one-hour drive costs $75 -instructor time, gas, insurance, maintenance, etc.). will be subtracted from $425 for each drive completed to reach the refund amout.  If a student chooses to drop out after they have started driving, they will be credited the remaining dollar amount based on the number of sessions they have participated in as well as the $15 processing fee (what the bank charges to electronically transfer funds).

We will meet at PVHS in the northeast parking lot (by the swimming pool and new gym) to start and finish each drive.

Students will be assigned a two-hour drive time with a partner (one hour driving and one hour observing).  That time will not change for the entirety of the course.
